Business Development and Marketing Department

The marketing department was commissioned in the year 2005, with the primary objective and mandate of interrogating the society's market environment, customer needs, devising the best strategies in market penetration and engaging potential and existing customers.

The department is headed by the Marketing and Business development Manager. It is responsible for the management and administration of the Marketing Department including building market position by locating, developing, and defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships; Administering comprehensive marketing plans for Bandari SACCO within the approved budgets; conducting marketing research and developing new products and services and /or re-branding current products and services of the SACCO to match the market demands; products innovation, marketing, selling and cross selling; publication of Bandari SACCO Newsletter; liaise with Radio and Television stations to disseminate information on the SACCO, Market the products and services of the SACCO, ensuring that the Model SACCO concept is transferred to Bandari SACCO and providing input to the overall success and growth of the SACCO.

The department has 3 personnel under the stewardship of the Business development and Marketing Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake product research and business development strategies.
  • Drive all membership development services to enhance loyalty, retention and growth.
  • Develop and implement membership drive strategies according to market trends and member demands.
  • Coordination of Public Relations activities.
  • Promotion of Society‚Äôs services and image.
  • Marketing and selling the Society's products both BOSA and FOSA to the members and potential members.

  

  • Recruitment of new members.
  • Represent the society in marketing forums.
  • Educate the members on all society's applicable policies, new products and functions of the society's activities.
  • Promote, foster and protect members' interests in relation to the core society functions.
  • Customer Retention.
  • Ensure that marketing activities are within the approved budget.
