Bandari SACCO Society Limited was registered under the Co-operative Societies Act Cap 490 on 2nd July 1975. It was originally known as East African Railways and Harbors Corporation and started its operations with 20 members.

In the year 1985, the Society changed its name to Bandari Savings and Credit Cooperative Society. Then, the common bond of the Society was the employees of Kenya Ports Authority. It later expanded its common bond to include the employees of Kenya Ferry Services and Kenya Maritime Authority.

The Society opened the FOSA Services in January 2005 offer all the financial needs of our members under one roof and immediately thereafter opened its common bond to the general public from every part of the country and Kenyans in diaspora. The Sacco has been on a steady path of growth both in membership and asset base since opening its common bond to individual persons, groups, businesses, Institutions from within Kenya and outside the country.
